Sundar Pichai-1-1024x630Buffett announced that he was planning to donate more than 80 percent of his money to charitable foundations. In 2020, he increased that percentage to 99 percent. Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, created by Bill Gates and Melinda (the Microsoft founder) was the main beneficiary. The foundation was focused on global health and education. Bill and Buffett had been in contact since the 1990s. The other organizations receiving donations included those run by Buffett's three children as well as the Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation, named for his late wife, which concentrated on women's reproductive rights and supported college scholarships. The Giving Pledge was an invitation for other wealthy people to give a large portion of their fortune to charities that was created by Buffett and Gates in 2010.
